📖 Understand It First

What is hibah takaful?

Many people know takaful. Many know hibah. Few realise the combination is the most powerful estate tool available to Malaysian Muslims.

🧩

The Concept

Hibah takaful combines a takaful plan (life protection) with hibah (a gift made during your lifetime). You appoint your beneficiaries through a valid hibah contract, and the benefit belongs to them directly.

✍️

How It Works

You take a takaful plan and sign a valid hibah nomination. On a claim, the takaful operator pays the named beneficiaries directly, with no court process and no faraid distribution needed.

💰

Why It's Different

Ordinary hibah only distributes assets you already own. Hibah takaful creates a new cash asset that flows straight to your family. Cash in hand, not property that must be sold or fought over.

🔍 Two Scenarios

The same family. Two very different outcomes.

😰

Without Hibah Takaful

  • Bank accounts frozen immediately
  • No cash for funeral expenses
  • Heirs must file through the courts
  • Distribution can take 2 to 5 years
  • Legal fees of RM 10,000 to RM 30,000
  • Family disputes over the estate
😊

With Hibah Takaful

  • Cash paid directly to your beneficiaries
  • Funeral costs settled immediately
  • No court, no legal filings
  • Benefit paid in 2 to 4 weeks
  • Thousands saved in legal fees
  • Family at peace, no disputes

Hibah takaful does not replace faraid for your existing estate. It creates a separate cash benefit that passes outside it, so your family has money while everything else is settled.

👪 Who Needs It Most

If your family depends on you, this is for you.

01

Parents of Young Children

Children cannot go to court to claim an inheritance. Hibah takaful puts cash in the hands of their guardian within weeks, so school, food and daily life carry on.

02

Sole Breadwinners

If your income stops, your family's bills don't. A hibah benefit replaces years of income at the exact moment it disappears.

03

Business Owners & Professionals

Business and personal assets can take years to untangle through the courts. Hibah takaful gives your family immediate liquidity while the estate is resolved.

04

Parents of OKU Dependants

A dependant with special needs requires care that never stops. Naming them or their caregiver as beneficiary secures that care, properly and legally.

? FAQ

Your questions, answered.

The questions families ask us most about hibah takaful.

01 How is hibah takaful different from ordinary takaful?
In ordinary takaful, the death benefit may still pass through faraid or a formal claims process that takes time. With hibah takaful, you sign a hibah contract when appointing your beneficiaries, so the benefit goes to them directly, with no court and no faraid distribution.
02 Is hibah takaful valid in Islam?
Yes, 100%. Hibah, a gift made during one's lifetime, is encouraged in Islam. The takaful products we recommend are approved by the Shariah Advisory Council of Bank Negara Malaysia, and the hibah contract follows valid fiqh muamalat principles.
03 How much is the monthly contribution?
It depends on your age, health, protection amount and the plan chosen. As a guide, basic plans start from around RM 80 to RM 150 a month for RM 200,000 of protection. In the consultation we recommend the best fit for your budget.
04 Can I name more than one beneficiary?
Yes. You can name several beneficiaries and set each person's percentage. For example: 50% to your spouse, 30% to your eldest child, 20% to your parents. Full control over how it is shared.
05 I already have takaful. Do I still need this?
Having takaful does not guarantee your family receives the benefit quickly. Many existing plans have no valid hibah nomination, so the money still goes through faraid or a lengthy formal process. We'll review your existing plan and confirm whether your nomination actually protects your family.
06 Can I change my beneficiaries later?
Yes, at any time while you are alive and the contract conditions are met. New marriage, new child, changed circumstances: review the nomination with your advisor and update it. Faraid's fixed formula offers no such flexibility.
